Job Description Job Description Staff Accountant Location: Fresno, CA Salary Range: $68,000 – $75,000 annually (DOE) Position Summary This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant who is looking to build a long-term career in accounting while continuing to expand their skillset. The role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, values mentorship, and wants hands-on exposure to core accounting functions and month-end processes. You’ll work closely with experienced accounting leadership, gaining guidance and support while contributing meaningfully to daily operations and financial reporting. Primary Responsibilities Prepare and post routine and complex journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and reclassifications Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring balances are accurate, properly supported, and reviewed monthly Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies promptly Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation Analyze account activity and investigate variances, providing explanations and recommendations as needed Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal management reports Assist with audit support by preparing schedules and responding to documentation requests Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data Identify and assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required 2–5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role Strong hands-on experience with journal entries, GL reconciliations, and bank reconciliations Solid understanding of month-end close procedures Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas) Experience with accounting or ERP systems High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to manage deadlines and work independently as well as collaboratively
