Responsibilities Patient Square is seeking a Summer Intern (
in-person only ) to join the Firm’s EMPIRIC (Excellence in
Medicine, Patient Impact Research, Innovation and Care) Institute.
The EMPIRIC Institute is focused on researching, measuring, and
enhancing patient impact within current and prospective Patient
Square portfolio companies. The Summer Intern’s primary role will
be to support patient impact research and measurement initiatives
at the EMPIRIC Institute. In addition, the Summer Intern will:
Conduct real-world data analyses, patient outcomes research,
evidence syntheses etc., to support patient impact measurement and
advancement across the Patient Square portfolio. Assist in the
collection, organization, and curation of a health outcomes and
evidence repository, including clinical, real-world, and health
economics sources Contribute to the development of internal
research and analytics tools used to standardize, automate, and
scale patient impact assessments Prepare research dissemination
materials such as PowerPoint presentations, research abstracts,
whitepapers etc. Support other EMPIRIC Institute projects as needed
Requirements / Qualifications Demonstrated experience with patient
outcomes research and real-world evidence generation, including
familiarity with study design, evidence synthesis, and
interpretation. In-progress Ph.D., or advanced degree in health
outcomes research, health economics, health services research,
epidemiology, biostatistics or a related discipline. Strong
understanding of research methodologies for patient outcomes
research and real-world studies e.g., peer-reviewed publications,
research abstract presentation etc. Proficiency in analyzing large
health care datasets (e.g., claims data, electronic health record
registry data), using R, SAS, SQL or similar analytical tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including
ability to simplify and communicate complex or technical topics to
a non-scientific audience. Ability to work collaboratively in
cross-functional teams Experience in designing and building
research or analytics tools for health care decision-making is
strongly preferred. Start / End Dates : May-August, ~12 Weeks
