Description:Who We AreNavigator Schools is a network of public
charter schools that operates four high performing schools, three
K-8 schools in the Northern Central Coast area and a K-6 in
Hayward. Navigator exists because a group of concerned educators
and parents no longer wanted to wait for someone else to figure out
how to improve the quality of public school education. They were
determined to demonstrate that ethnicity, early English fluency,
and socio-economic status are factors outside the classroom that
may challenge, but should not predetermine, a student's academic
success. With that determination, our first site was founded.After
studying best practices from schools throughout the United States,
we created a rigorous K-8 full inclusion model that anticipates and

their circumstances.Role SummaryNavigator is seeking dedicated,
passionate teachers who are driven to impact the lives of
traditionally underserved students. Teachers in Training receive
valuable practical classroom experience, while receiving
theoretical expertise through enrollment in a credentialing program
(outside of Navigator). Teachers in Training are supported and
coached in the Navigator model, will be prepared to transition to a
classroom teacher role and deliver an exceptional educational
experience to every child that walks through our
doors.ResponsibilitiesSchool CultureInvest in personal professional
development by demonstrating a willingness to be coached during
weekly coaching and feedback sessionsFully participate and
contribute to all professional developments, coaching/feedback
sessions, and other trainingsCollaborate with school staff to
increase effectiveness of teaching methods and instructional
deliveryMaintain high expectations for self and students at all
times; commit to 100% student engagementManage student behavior
according to common Navigator practicesSubstitute TeachGain
valuable hands on experience by substitute teaching for students in
grades K-8:Lesson plans are delivered by classroom teacher, Teacher
in Training delivers lessons to class & provides feedback to
teacher on student academic and behavior progressGuide the learning
process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives
as indicated in the lesson plans for the lessons, units, or
projects assignedEmploys instructional methods and materials that
are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives, including
station rotation, whole class, small group, and individualized
supportSmall Group InstructionStrengthen skills in instructional
delivery by leading small group instruction in center rotation
model, guiding a group of 6-10 students in ELA and math
contentAssess and measure student progress through assessment of
skills taughtRequirements:QualificationsBachelor's Degree and proof
of enrollment in a Valid CA Teaching Credential ProgramProof of
'pass' on CBESTVaid CA 30-day Teaching CredentialBilingual in
