Job Description:
As Manager of Regulatory Compliance Engineering, you will lead a
team of individual contributors and technical leads responsible for
ensuring regulatory compliance across Amazon's growing portfolio of
products. You will drive a culture of proactive compliance
integration into product development from early concept through
sustaining. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on
technical guidance, requiring both visionary thinking and practical
execution to ensure products meet or exceed regulatory requirements
in all markets. A highly organized leader who is a strong
communicator and influencer. You will have a strong understanding
of the regulatory compliance scheme and the processes required to
specify, test, qualify, document and maintain certifications
related to EMI, EMC and RF compliance for domestic and
international market while driving a standardized and harmonized
approach to regulatory compliance. You will have strong compliance
engineering and design fundamentals and be able to distill complex
requirements and issues as necessary. Key job responsibilities *
Recruit, manage and maintain a world-class Hardware Regulatory
Compliance Team * Develop and maintain strong relationships with
key stakeholders across engineering, product, and business teams *
Actively educate the engineering and business team on critical
regulatory requirements for new and existing products. Interpret,
negotiate and help guide compliant design development and verify
compliance through test and validation activities * Provide
strategic guidance to design teams regarding compliance and
regulatory design requirements * Drive standardization and
harmonization of compliance approaches across product lines * Work
with certifying agencies and organizations to ensure new and
existing designs comply with local, regional and national
regulations * Lead test plan and test data reviews * Participate in
design reviews and provide direction to product development teams
on product regulatory compliance issues * Work with 3rd party labs
to test and validate Amazon products and support testing from a
hardware and software perspective * Review the compliance of
project designs and documentation to ensure it meets or exceed all
applicable regulating bodies minimum requirements * Manage and
track compliance metrics to ensure operational excellence and
timely delivery * Build robust process for continuous improvement
of the workflow * Continually review and update current internal
standards to ensure compliance with certifying entities as
specifications evolve * Obtain compliance type approvals for all
product lines to ensure entry into domestic and international
locations and markets * Attend and actively participate in
cross-functional engineering meetings BASIC QUALIFICATIONS *
Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience * 5
years of experience managing a team * 7 years of compliance
engineering experience, preferably in consumer electronics *
Experience with EMI/EMC regulation, testing and debugging
methodology * Prior hands-on experience with troubleshooting
techniques related specifically to compliance issues * Experience
in documenting product requirements extracted from EMI/EMC and
Wireless standards * Experience certifying products to various
international approval agency * Prior experience with test and
analysis methodologies and test equipment used for regulatory
compliance tests PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Master’s or PhD degree
in engineering or similar field * EMC design, test, and mitigation
experience * Proven track record delivering high volume consumer
electronic devices to multiple international markets. * Strong
interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including
the ability to communicate effectively with people in a variety of
disciplines though all levels of an organization. * Experience
interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, test labs *
Ability to multitask in a high energy environment * Experience
dealing with ambiguity, changing direction, and being strategic and
tactical as situations require * Technical writing experience and

the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base
pay for this position ranges from $135,900/year in our lowest
geographic market up to $234,900/year in our highest geographic
market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market
location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills,
