lot of fun doing it. About this Opportunity: We are seeking a
hands-on, results-driven Manufacturing Engineer II to support and
improve sheet metal fabrication and electro-mechanical assembly
operations at our Stockton facility. This role is focused on
shop-floor execution, process improvement, and new product
introductions in a high-mix, high-volume contract manufacturing
environment. The Manufacturing Engineer II will apply engineering
principles to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
while partnering closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and
Supply Chain. This role supports both base business and new product
launches and requires daily engagement on the manufacturing floor.
This role supports base business improvement and/or new product
launches, develops tooling and fixtures, implements lean
methodology, investigates issues using root cause analysis,
implements improvements, manages CAPAs, and creates documentation
such as standard work and validation protocols. The engineer
collaborates cross-functionally to optimize designs for
manufacturability and cost and communicates effectively with
internal teams and customers. Responsibilities: Drive continuous
improvement across sheet metal fabrication and assembly operations
Support processes including laser cutting, turret punching, press
brakes, panel bending, welding, powder coating, metal finishing,
and electro-mechanical assembly Develop and implement standard
work, work instructions, and process documentation Perform root
cause analysis to identify and eliminate waste, defects, and
inefficiencies Support new product introductions (NPI) and process
transfers in a contract manufacturing environment Design and
develop tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve productivity,
quality, and cost Partner cross-functionally to evaluate designs
for manufacturability and cost Support equipment layouts,
engineering changes, and process validations Investigate and
implement new manufacturing technologies and methods Manage and
support CAPAs related to manufacturing processes Communicate
effectively with internal teams and as needed, customers. The
successful candidate will: Plan and execute projects, with minimum
supervision, on time and within budget to achieve tangible results.
Drive improvements through root cause analysis and data driven
decision-making. Participates in cross-functional project teams to
implement creative solutions. Ensure internal and external customer
expectations are met or exceeded. Requirements: Qualifications &
Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical
field 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in sheet
metal fabrication, machining, or electro-mechanical assembly
Hands-on experience supporting automated or semi-automated
fabrication environments Strong working knowledge of Lean
manufacturing and continuous improvement Experience supporting new
product launches in a production environment Ability to
independently plan and execute engineering projects with minimal
supervision Experience in regulated manufacturing environments
(medical device, aerospace, or similar) is a plus, but not
required
