The expected base salary range for this position is between 204,720.00 USD - 268,695.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives. As a family company, benefits are a key piece of our Total Rewards package as well and we're proud to provide a comprehensive, competitive, and differentiated benefits program that our people and their families value.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Director, R&D Formulation - Global Product & Sustainability will lead a team of 5 managers (3 in US, 2 in Europe), 2 R&D Principles and a total of 20 (indirect reports) chemists and engineers across both geographies. This role reports to the head of R&D for Lifestyle Brands. The Senior Director in this role will be accountable for development and execution of the formulation strategy and on time delivery of formulas across all categories the Lifestyle Brands does business including: Personal Care, Home Cleaning, Laundry/Fabric Care, Dish, Pet & Air Care. This role will be responsible for development and scale-up of formulas from the lab scale to manufacturing. Along with cross-functional business partners this role co-owns developing innovative new products that meet the needs of consumers while delivering strong efficacy and performance.*This position is located onsite in San Francisco, CA.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead technical validation and qualification of all new product formulations.
• Develop and deliver the Cost Saving and business continuity projects.
• Work with cross-functional partners in Brand, Innovation Marketing and Consumer Insights to identify consumer unmet needs for generating new product ideas for the innovation pipeline.
• Lead new claims generation and development of new claims substantiation protocols.
• Ensure seamless scale-up and manufacturing process development for new products, including setting quality standards, test protocols and processing handbook.
• Work with cross-functional partners in Supply Chain and Engineering to secure robust supply plans for raw materials and new formulations.
• Partner with Procurement to identify strategic partnerships in raw materials supply and third-party manufacturing to deliver new product innovation to market.
• Ensure product formulations meet internal and external sustainability requirements.
• Develop the Formulation technology strategy, including identifying new product technologies for future innovation and executing said technologies in development and commercialization projects.
• Managing team resources to meet business priorities.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive R&D experience to include 10+ years experience in CPG preferably in Personal Care, Beauty and/or Home Cleaning.
  • 5+ years of people management and team leadership experience.PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
    • Strong leadership skills, having effectively led previous organizations to meet commitments and deliver results.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with a wide range of technical and business skillsets.
    • Ability to present effectively to senior leadership.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Finance.
    • Experience presenting to external customers/clients.JOB REQUIREMENTS
      • Full-time, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
      • 20% travel including to Europe.
      • Remote work available once a week.
