Job Description:
Duties: Performs actuarial valuation of U.S. pension plans by
applying IRS, DOL, ERISA, FAS, and PBGC regulatory requirements. Primary Responsibilities: • Assists pension plan sponsors with compliance
requirements, including filing annual reports with the DOL, filing annual PBGS
premium, and preparing and coordinating annual funding notice mailings to
plan participants. • Performs funding valuations and prepares accounting
information for defined benefit pension plans and retiree medical plans. • Performs retirement plan non-discrimination testing and
provides government compliance support for retirement plan sponsors. • Supports pension plan administration and benefit
calculations. • Performs profit sharing and match true-up calculations for
defined contribution retirement plans. • Estimates financial and employee retirement readiness impact
of alternative retirement plan designs to assist plan sponsors with
strategic decision making. • Performs calculations for defined benefit plan derisking lump
sum windows. • Performs retirement plan due diligence reviews. • Supports plan termination procedures related to mergers
and acquisitions. • Supports retirement plan compliance failure corrections. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Actuarial Mathematics,
Statistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field and
three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience performing actuarial consulting within a retirement products and
services environment; Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign
education equivalent) in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Actuarial
Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely
related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one
(1) year of experience performing actuarial consulting within a retirement
products and services environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated
Expertise (“DE”) performing Defined Benefit consulting on qualified and
non-qualified plans, including performing ERISA and FASB actuarial valuations
and participant benefit calculations; completing non-discrimination
testing (410(b) Coverage Testing and 401(a)(4) Benefits Testing); and
preparing IRS Form 5500 and PBGC compliance filings using Microsoft Office
Excel with Visual Basic (VBA), Microsoft Access, and ProVal actuarial
valuation software; DE performing Defined Contribution (DC) plan
consulting, including performing plan design analysis (DC cost and
nondiscrimination projections) for 401(k), 403(b), and non-qualified DC plans;
calculating annual employer match and profit sharing amounts; and completing
non- discrimination testing (410(b) Coverage Testing, ADP/ACP
Testing, and 401(a)(4) Benefits Testing); DE performing actuarial analysis
-- quantitative analysis of financial and employee census data --
for DB and DC plans, including reviewing and interpreting plan document
provisions; DE supporting development of benefits websites, including process
mapping, and development of plan participant election processes with third
