Job Type Full-timeDescriptionFULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT POSITION- $45
- $50 PER HOURSUMMARY: Administer the Child Care Food Program and
direct food service operations for Go Kids' center sites to ensure
that standards of performance meet CACFP regulations and state
health/safety codes. Conduct and develop nutrition education
workshops for staff and families to promote consistency, enthusiasm
and understanding for the nutritional needs of children from birth
to twelve (12) years of age.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities
that may be assigned.I. NUTRITION SERVICES/ADMINISTRATION---Advise
parents of nutritional risks and recommend follow-up tasks through
newsletter articles and workshops.---Administer the Child Care Food
Program for center sites.---Work with the Fiscal team to submit
reimbursement claims to the finance division and the State
Department of Education.---Conduct regular center site monitoring
in four (4) counties to complete required CACFP forms.---Coordinate
the center site monitor visits with the Accounting/Payroll
Director.---Audit CACFP Menu Production records binder for
completion, when meals are produced in the Go Kids, commercial/site
kitchen.---Review and suggest revision to CACFP procedures as need
it in coordination with the Fiscal team.II. FOOD SERVICE
OPERATION---Monitors center base programs and Central/Site Kitchen
to ensure compliance to health/safety regulations and established G
procedures.---Prepare cost analysis reports as needed to evaluate
the fluctuation of food costs.---Review, revise and distribute
cycle menus that support nutritional needs of children (eight
months to twelve years) as needed.---Standardize recipes for cycle
menus when meals get produced in the Go Kids central/site
kitchen---Work with Accounting/Payroll Director to review purchase
orders to replace and restock kitchen/site equipment.---Coordinate
maintenance efforts to ensure licensing and health/safety codes are
met.---Monitor and review the food production or vending orders,
and delivery process from the central/site kitchen
(Quarterly)---Work with Accounting/Payroll Director to Interface
with cooks, site Supervisor/Directors and food/equipment vendors to
facilitate food service operations, when needed.---Monitor and
perform milk audits.---Monitoring and maintain children allergy
worksheet per each site, and regularly send update information to
site Supervisor/Directors and kitchen staff.III. NUTRITION
EDUCATION/TRAINING---Plan, prepare and present specific training
sessions on nutrition principles for staff and clients.---Present
workshops to demonstrate cooking activities for classroom
involvement.---Inform parents of nutritional needs of children
relevant to age groups.---Attend parent meetings to discuss
specific nutrition topics as needed---Maintain involvement with
health & nutrition related planning activities Go
Kids.---Coordinate bilingual training/workshops for Spanish
speaking staff and clients.---Gather and distribute nutrition
brochures, news bulletins and other information to hand out to
staff and clients.---Train new cooks/Food Delivery Rep on standards
of practice and review materials at in service training.---Share
published nutrition curriculums with teaching staff.---Display,
distribute and use the USDA My Plate tool to teach healthy eating
habits.---Recommend developmentally appropriate nutrition
activities that can be done in each of the centers to teach
children to identify the variety of food choices and to make
learning fun.---Create/maintain Nutritional Training channel in
Center Base Teams platformIV. OTHER RESPONSIBLITIES---Attend Go
Kids manager meetings to keep informed of current activities and
applicable policies, sharing ideas, and helping to build a solid
foundation of ongoing teamwork.---Attend Childcare Food Program
roundtables and conventions as necessary to keep informed of
current legislation and issues.---Prepare staff notes as needed for
monthly Site Leadership meeting with Center Base Operations
Director to inform Site Supervisor/Directors of various
issues.---Submit nutrition articles for newsletters as
requested.---Accomplish correspondence via letter, email and fax to
staff and outside agencies.---Work collaboratively with
Accounting/Payroll Director to ensure kitchen and Food Delivery
Reps, follow thestandards of performance to meet CACFP regulations
and state health/safety codes.RequirementsQUALIFICATION

food service operations, nutrition and childcare including federal,
state and local laws, and regulations governing child nutrition,
health and safety codes, and knowledge of sound techniques in all
aspects of nutrition, childcare and development.---Must be able to
demonstrate an understanding of quantity cooking techniques for
food services.---Must be organized, creative, independent, and
self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail-oriented, flexible
in scheduling and prioritization, and driven by excellence.---Must
possess exceptional communication skills to present facts and
recommendations effectively in oral and written form, including
accurate grammar and business correspondence knowledge.---Strong
interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective business
relationships; demonstrated ability to communicate in situations
requiring tact and poise; skilled in confidentiality and
discretion.---Thorough knowledge of office administration
(including efficient filing systems, office machines and equipment,
and computer software) and skilled in customer service and employee
relations.---Must present a neat, professional appearance.---Must
be able to adjust tasks and focus with composure, and in accordance
with changing deadlines and priorities.---Requires a good sense of
humor and belief in working as a professional, cohesive team
member.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:---Bachelor's degree (B.A/S.) in
Nutrition/related field or equivalent from Four-year College or
certificate program; and two-three (2-3) years related experience
in food service; or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Supervisory experience necessary. A minimum of 9 ECE
units in Infant care, family and community, child development
recommended. Must be able to pass a fingerprint and criminal
clearance. Current Infant CPR and first aid certificate
recommended. Must have a current California Drivers License.
Bilingual in Spanish an asset.LANGUAGE SKILLS:---Ability to read,
analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed
style and format. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers,
clients, and the general public. Bilingual skills
helpful.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:---Ability to apply concepts such as
fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations. Ability to calculate figures & amounts with a 10

problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables,
occasionally in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
