Safety Coordinator will assist with greeting all visitors,
employees and applicants while maintaining the day-to-day
administrative functions of a highly active Human Resources Office.
Responsibilities include workers compensation, leave of absence,
maintain environmental health & safety audits, recruitment for
regular and temporary positions, time, and attendance Proactively
review candidate resumes and screen candidates in applicant
tracking systems Responsible for posting open jobs on internal and
external websites Coordinate interviews between candidates and
hiring managers/teams Schedule pre onboarding processes reference
checks, drug screens and background checks Create new hire packets
and maintain other employment/recruitment related materials Strong
understanding of administrative functions for interview and hiring
process Assist in recruitment related projects and programs
Complete new hire paperwork, input new hires in the system, and
changes in employee status Lead new hire orientation Responsible
for time and attendance for both temps and regular employees
Administer workers compensation claims and leave of absence in a
timely manner; ensure all required documents are collected and
follow procedures Accountable for completing permit applications
and ensure compliance with permit reporting Maintain relevant EHS
logs and documentation Plan, schedule and conduct safety meetings
with department managers and employees Answer employee questions
related to company policies and procedures, benefits etc. Ensure
accurate maintenance of all employee records and files Assist with
employee activities and events, employee communications, employee
bulletin boards, etc. Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor---s degree in
human resources, business administration, or related field 3 years
of experience in manufacturing environment In depth knowledge of
federal and CA employment laws/regulations Knowledge and experience
in handling workers compensation claims and leave of absence
Ability to work on sensitive/confidential matters and data
integrity Strong proficiency in Microsoft programs, including
office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint Strong focus on customer service,
responsiveness and listening Ability to take initiative,
multi-task, manage details, and meet deadlines Previous experience
in timekeeping/payroll plus Bilingual in English and Spanish
