Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent practical
experience. 4 years of conversation design experience in product
design or UX design. Include a portfolio, website, or any other

degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a
related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of
experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization. 1
year of experience leading design projects. Experience as a systems
thinker and designing for scalable conversation. Experience
balancing user needs with technical constraints and business
considerations. Knowledge of the fundamentals of conversation
(e.g., Cooperative Principle, turn-taking, cognitive load,
pragmatics, prosody) and speech and language technologies. About

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services
offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays.
The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies
and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the
helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it
and the world around it. The US base salary range for this
full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 bonus equity benefits. Our
salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within
the range, individual pay is determined by work location and
additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and
relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about
the specific salary range for your preferred location during the

Responsibilities Develop sample dialogs, flow diagrams, and
prototypes to communicate voice interactions and design ideas.
Create voice user interface (VUI) design specifications in
collaboration with Engineering and others in User Experience.
Evaluate usability and audio consistency of existing dialog flows
and recommend design changes. Create guidelines, reference
artifacts, and resources for third-party developers to assist in
VUI design and prompt writing. Develop and advocate voice user
interface design standard procedures and guidelines to ensure a
consistent brand experience for users across Google.
