world connects and communicates. Job Summary The VP of Quality
Assurance will be responsible for architecting and executing a
world-class QA strategy that ensures Versa’s networking and
security products deliver best-in-class performance, scalability,
and security compliance. This role requires a visionary leader who
deeply understands the convergence of networking, security, and
cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on test automation,
security validation, and performance benchmarking. The ideal
candidate will lead a global QA organization, collaborating closely
with Engineering, Security, DevOps, and Product Management to embed
quality and security into every stage of the software development
lifecycle (SDLC). Responsibilities Quality Leadership & Strategy:
Define and execute a QA strategy that ensures the quality,
security, and performance of Versa’s SD-WAN, SSE, and SD-LAN
solutions. Lead a global QA organization, including teams focused
on automation, performance, security, and compliance testing.
Establish and monitor quality KPIs (defect density, test coverage,
MTTR, security vulnerabilities) to drive continuous improvement.
Champion an automation-first culture, ensuring high efficiency and
scalability in testing methodologies. Collaborate with Engineering,
Security, and Product Management to ensure that security and
networking quality is embedded from design to deployment. Security
& Compliance Validation: Drive security validation for SASE, Zero
Trust, and SD-WAN architectures, ensuring compliance with ISO
27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR, and FedRAMP standards. Lead penetration
testing, vulnerability scanning, and threat modeling efforts to
proactively identify and mitigate risks in Versa’s security stack.
Ensure the integrity of end-to-end encryption, identity management,
and secure access policies across cloud and on-premise
environments. Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Security
Engineering, and DevSecOps teams to validate security controls and
threat detection capabilities. Automation & Performance Testing:
Architect and oversee the development of scalable, cloud-native
test automation frameworks to validate networking and security
functionality. Implement robust performance and scalability testing
frameworks for high-throughput, low-latency networking
environments. Utilize tools such as Spirent, IXIA, Wireshark,
iperf, and Burp Suite for deep network security and performance
validation. Optimize test environments for multi-cloud (AWS, Azure,
GCP) and hybrid deployments, ensuring Versa’s solutions scale
seamlessly in diverse environments. Cross-Functional Collaboration
& Continuous Improvement: Partner with Engineering to drive a
culture of shift-left testing, embedding quality in early
development stages. Work with Product Management to define clear
acceptance criteria for new features with a focus on security,
reliability, and usability. Collaborate with Customer Success &
Incident Response teams to analyze real-world performance, optimize
test cases, and reduce customer-reported issues. Lead postmortem
reviews and root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents,
driving continuous improvement. Qualifications Security &
Networking Expertise: 15 years of experience in Quality Assurance,
Networking, and Security, with at least 5 years in executive
leadership roles. Extensive experience with SD-WAN, SSE, SASE, and
Zero Trust security architecture. Deep understanding of network
security architectures, including SWG, CASB, DLP, and next-gen
firewalls (NGFWs). Strong grasp of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF,
IPSec, TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, QUIC) and deep packet inspection (DPI).
Expertise in firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, ZTNA, and endpoint security.
Test Automation & Performance Engineering: Hands-on experience with
test automation frameworks and scripting languages (Python, Go,
Java, or JavaScript). Proven expertise in load, stress, and
failover testing for cloud-based and edge networking environments.
Experience with security testing tools (Burp Suite, Nessus, Qualys,
Metasploit) and performance benchmarking tools (iperf, Spirent,
IXIA). Experience in integrating QA automation into CI/CD pipelines
for cloud-native deployments. Leadership & Business Acumen:
Demonstrated experience in building and scaling global QA teams in
fast-paced, Agile development environments. Strong decision-making
and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to
improving product quality. Exceptional communication and
stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence
C-level executives, engineers, and customers. A passion for
continuous innovation in testing methodologies, with a strong focus
on AI-driven test automation and machine learning-based anomaly
detection. Preferred Qualifications: Deep knowledge of Versa
Networks SD-WAN and SASE solutions or experience in a similar
networking/security product company. Industry certifications such
as CCIE Security, CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Security Specialist,
or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). Experience in AI/ML-driven test
automation and predictive analytics for quality engineering.
Location: Santa Clara, CA *Applicants must be authorized to work in
the the US The pay range for this position at commencement of
employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected
in the range of $250,000 to $330,000. A candidate’s specific pay
within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including
job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant
education, certifications, and other business and organizational
