Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid (On-site
work required) contract position with our Sacramento, California
based client playing a key role in supporting mission-critical
projects. This individual will serve as a technical leader with a
deep understanding of electronic data processing, Oracle database
development, and modern programming languages. The ideal candidate
will excel at systems analysis, architecture design, and software
development within a secure, data-driven environment. Key
Responsibilities: * Lead software development efforts in support of
DOJ systems and applications. * Analyze business requirements and
translate them into effective technical solutions. * Design,
implement, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code (procedures, packages,
functions). * Develop backend software components in Python, Java,
or other languages to support data manipulation and integration. *
Create detailed technical documentation including system
specifications and process flows. * Collaborate with
cross-functional teams including project managers, analysts, and QA
engineers. * Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior
developers. Requirements: * 7 years of experience in electronic
data processing systems study, design, and programming, including
experience in a lead role. * 7 years of experience in systems
analysis, data flow design, business process evaluation, and
technical documentation. * 5 years of experience in Oracle
development, including strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL. * 7
years of experience developing in PL/SQL, Python, Java, or similar
languages for data integration and backend development. * Advanced
proficiency in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL * Strong
programming skills in Python, Java, or comparable languages * Deep
understanding of systems design, data architecture, and software
development lifecycle * Familiarity with Agile methodologies *
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Experience: * Previous work with DOJ or other government
agencies * Knowledge of secure application development and
compliance best practices * Experience with cloud platforms,
microservices, and DevOps tools Education: Bachelors or Master's or
