Job DescriptionPrimary Function of PositionSystems Analysts (Robotic Algorithms and Control) at Intuitive Surgical play a vital role in designing, developing, and supporting new products within the daVinci Surgery product line. They are primarily responsible for tele-robotic motion control algorithms, robotic manipulator control, and safety algorithms for surgical robots and instruments. This role involves collaboration across electrical, mechanical, software, control, user interface, and safety engineering disciplines, integrating various subsystems. Systems Analysts aim to contribute early design insights, rapidly prototype new solutions, and address complex system integration and motion control challenges. Their responsibilities continue through to product shipment, ensuring high quality and reliability.Essential Job Duties

• Contribute to the design of new surgical platforms and instruments through control system analysis and prototype characterization.
• Implement and optimize motion control algorithms.
• Apply control theory to the design and validation of mechatronic and tele-robotic systems.
• Analyze electro-mechanical devices for dynamic safety and clinical risk assessment.
• Develop safety monitoring algorithms grounded in physical principles.
• Participate in clinical observations and experiments to validate performance requirements.
• Document innovations and pursue intellectual property opportunities.
• Communicate system performance insights across the organization.
• Enhance team productivity through tool development and knowledge sharing.
• Support and monitor system performance from design through manufacturing stages.
